Subaru has released a factory reflash available from the dealer for the 2008 STI’s. Fixing issues involving lean conditions at high RPMs which can potentially damage your engine. Subaru of America has sent out letters  with necessary instructions and precautions to those affected:

Subaru of America (via SOABlog on NASIOC) has released a (semi)official news release regarding the MY2009 Subaru WRX and Subaru GT. The WRX is receiving an upgraded turbocharger and tune with an output of 265hp, pushed through upgraded summer 225/45R17 (vs the 08’s 205/50R17 all-season tires), all controlled with stiffer springs and 1mm larger swaybars.
