VOTING CLOSED!

It’s time! Hop in the booth, close the curtain, and vote! I have still yet to come up with a good way of orchestrating the voting process but here is my attempt:

Go to the calendar photo listing (will open in new window) and write down up to 14 images you would like to see in the calendar. Please look through both pages before making your selections. There are over 40 great images!

2009 SPT Boost Gauge

Posted by Eric | News, Products | Sunday 23 November 2008 7:26 pm

I got a copy of the 2009 Subaru Genuine Performance Parts Catalog from some friends at Exeter Subaru. Subaru has finally released a color matched boost gauge for the 2008/2009 WRX/STI’s. Labeled as the SPT Boost Gauge the description reads:

SPT Boost Gauge
Displays engine vacuum in inHg and boost in PSI. Bright red illumination matches the vehicle instrument panel lighting and goes dark when the engine is turned off. Kit includes mounting cup and bracket.

Impreza WRX & WRX STI (2008-2009) H501SFG500 (Available February ‘09)

I’ll be putting my order in soon ;-)

Next Generation Legacy to get Subaru’s New CVT.

Posted by Eric | Company, News | Wednesday 19 November 2008 8:38 pm

flyinpig over on NASIOC has translated some news from Japan. Looks like the next generation Legacy will be getting Fuji Heavy Industry’s new chain belt CVT. FHI first announced it was developing a CVT transmission back in mid 2007.

Fuji Heavy Industries: Next-Gen Legacy to Get Newly Developed Chain Belt CVT First

FHI will commence use of its newly developed chain belt type CVT in the next-generation Legacy, which is due to hit the market next year. The new transmission, which will be coupled with FHI’s distinctive boxer engine and all-wheel drive system, will be able to handle a substantial amount of torque.

Compared with a typical five-speed automatic transmission, it is anticipated that the new CVT will get 10% better fuel economy. With the plan to improve fuel consumption, this CVT is expected to become the main transmission system offered in the future. Implementation will start with the Legacy and then will gradually be adopted to other models such as the Impreza and Forester.

Racecomp Engineering’s New Camber Plates and a Parts List Update!

Posted by Eric | News, Products | Sunday 16 November 2008 3:26 pm

Racecomp Engineering is in the final stages of the public release of their lowering and non-lowering camber plates for the 08/09 Subaru WRX STI. There is some more information on them over on IWSTI.

These along with Whiteline’s new Max-C camber/caster plates have been added to the parts list under a new section for camber plates. While I was doing the update I also added AMR’s new stealth back turbo-to-axle pipe.

Parts List >> Camber Plates
Parts List >> Exhaust
Parts List >> All Items

If you come across any other items that need to be added let me know!
